Meet Elliott, the 10 Year-Old Triathlete and Feed Zone Chef
Hi, I’m Elliott. I am 10 years old, a soccer player, a triathlete and enjoy time in the kitchen.
My mom got this cookbook, The Feed Zone Cookbook, and over breakfast one day asked me and my brother, Chas, if we saw anything in it we wanted to make for dinner. We chose Meatballs in a Red Wine Sauce. It was delicious and pretty easy to make.
We had fun making the meatballs and wanted to make another dish. We looked in the book again and decided we would make Stuffed French Toast. My mom makes us regular french toast, but Stuffed French Toast looked extra good.
Here are my thoughts on making and eating the recipe:
We used a type of bread my mom rarely buys, but she said it makes French Toast extra fluffy, Texas toast. My brother helped with the soaking and cooking 1 side, then I cooked the other.
I think he went to jump on the trampoline in the middle of cooking.
One time I soaked it too long and the bread ripped, so be careful.
I put them on a baking sheet and sprinkled cheese on one side and put ham on the other, then put in the oven to finish baking.
She put them together, sliced some strawberries on the side and let us know it was time to test our latest kitchen creation. She even brought them out to me and Chas and let us eat our dinner on the trampoline. We had to stop jumping though.
If you are a parent, you should totally let your kids eat on the trampoline and make meals from The Feed Zone.
This recipe earned a 5 from me and a 4 from my brother. My mom can’t eat gluten, so her’s was made using the Waffles that Dr. Lim and Chef Thomas share on page 109. My dad gave it a 5 too.
